2020 research season
From July 20 to August 30, 2020, excavations were carried out in the area of the prehistoric chocolate flint mine Poręba Dzierżna 24 in the Udorka Valley. The work on the site was attended by: PhD Magdalena Sudoł-Procyk, M.Sc. Magdalena Malak, M.Sc. Tadeusz Wiśniewski, M.Sc. mgr Jan Wiejacki and students from the Institute of Archeology of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Were subject to the supervision of the Forestry Olkusz.
The research covered the higher parts of the slope, where the top part of the cultural feature was documented under the redeposited loess package. Research will be continued next season. However, already at this stage of the research, the structures observed within it indicate that we are probably dealing with the remains of a shaft with a diameter of about 4 m. The features was filled with dusty-clay layers, and in them so far they registered nearly 7,000 flint product.
